Do stripes and stripes go together?

by Libby Alpert

I noticed a few women in my circles wearing MyBeadBox necklaces mixing the black and white striped beads while wearing a striped shirt. I quickly searched for professional advice about mixing stripes with stripes and came across an article written by Carrie Colbert, on a website packed with content about how to empower women to live, think, and dress with more color.

According to Carrie’s article 3 Tips for Mixing Stripes, she gives 3 helpful hints to keep in mind.

  1. Select One Unifying Color

It’s important to find common ground when it comes to mixing stripes. Pick that one unifying color that will be used throughout your entire outfit, as it will help bring the whole look together.

  1. Vary the Width for Visual Interest

Look for striped pieces in various widths. This helps bring an added interesting element to the overall look. For example, look for a pair of pants with a thin striped print and put it together with a top that has bold, thick stripes.

  1. Play with Textures

When wearing stripes with stripes, it helps to find items in differing textures. This will take the look away from being one-dimensional. So for example, if you wear a ribbed sweater, match it up with either a satin-twill skirt or pair of pants for a fun look.

How can these tips be applied to MyBeadBox?

Stylist and makeup artist Galit Lifshits shows off a few wardrobe combinations to hide the extra corona calories we all may have put on over the past few months. In her post, she talks about adding a lengthy vest or jacket to hide the waste line, but the truth is, all I could focus on was the fact that she incorporated a MyBeadBox necklace to spice up her look.

Stylist Hadas Alkalay, sent over a few looks, and among them, I spotted the same technique of stripes with stripes.

It’s official, stripes with stripes can definitely go together. And, we have the proof of three stylists who recommend it.
